Job Description: Audio Visual Installation Technician

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Audio Visual (AV) Installation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining audio, video, and control systems in commercial and/or residential environments. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, mount, and connect AV equipment including TVs, projectors, screens, speakers, amplifiers, video conferencing systems, and control devices.
  • Pull, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat5/6, speaker wire, HDMI, etc.).
  • Configure and calibrate AV systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues on-site.
  • Ensure all installations meet safety, quality, and industry standards.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, electricians, and other technicians.
  • Provide on-site customer support, system training, and clear communication.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work environment.
  • Complete job documentation, reports, and updates in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in AV installation, low-voltage wiring, or a related technical field.
  • Proficiency with AV hardware and systems (projectors, audio systems, smart devices, control systems, etc.).
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and perform physical tasks required for installation.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Certifications (CTS, OSHA 10, manufacturer-specific training) are a plus but not required.

Work Environment:

  • Full-time position with occasional overtime as needed.
  • Work occurs at various job sites, including offices, schools, event spaces, and residences.
  • Some travel may be required.
