Responsibilities Under general supervision, provide leadership in planning, developing, and directing advanced biostatistical work in support of public health programs, applying basic and advanced statistical research methods to analyze data and support public health decision‑making. Provide biostatistical consultation to support planning, program implementation, evaluation, and research activities, including: conferring with managers to develop project objectives; determining required methods of data collection, analysis, compilation, tabulation, and reporting; developing data processing methodologies; reviewing reports and forms; assisting managers in developing narrative reports and statistical data presentations; implementing statistical reporting procedures; preparing procedures manuals for use in coding, entering, and tabulating data; designing forms for data collection and compilation; providing technical support to personnel engaged in reporting and processing data; evaluating program objectives and integrating computer application processes; coordinating the department's statistical data reporting capabilities; and assisting outside agencies and individuals seeking statistical information for planning and research investigations. Initiate, plan, develop, and direct biostatistical studies, including collecting, organizing, and storing data; reviewing data quality; identifying analytical needs; conducting statistical analyses to evaluate performance and recommend improvements; analyzing local, county, state, and national demographic and health data; preparing and monitoring special or annual reports; establishing disease or condition registries; collaborating with diverse partners; preparing and delivering presentations to diverse audiences; and preparing manuscripts, reports, and presentations for professional conferences and publications. Supervise assigned staff, which involves scheduling, assigning, instructing, guiding, and checking work; appraising employee performance; providing training and development; enforcing personnel rules and regulations; counseling, motivating, and maintaining harmony; and interviewing applicants and recommending hiring, termination, transfers, discipline, or other employee status changes. Qualifications Master’s Degree or Higher in Biostatistics, Statistics, Biomedical Informatics, or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in statistical or biostatistical analysis. Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent. Strong analytical skills, ability to conduct advanced statistical analyses, and experience in public health or related fields.
