Job Description

THE COMPANY

Our client is one of the nation’s largest privately owned wholesale distributors serving the plumbing, HVAC, and industrial sectors. With hundreds of locally operated branches across North America, the organization combines the scale and resources of a national company with the entrepreneurial agility of local ownership. Each branch maintains independent decision-making authority, empowering employees to think like business owners and build long-term customer relationships.

For more than a century, their success has been rooted in hiring outstanding people and giving them the training, autonomy, and tools to lead. The Management Development Program (MDP) is the company’s flagship pathway for developing future branch managers, and it is now being expanded throughout the East Division.

THE JOB

The Campus Recruiter will lead university and early-career recruiting efforts for the East Division, with an emphasis on North and South Carolina. This role plays a critical part in strengthening the talent pipeline for both the Management Development Program (MDP) and the summer internship program—sourcing, engaging, and hiring high-potential students who will grow into the company’s next generation of leaders.

You will oversee a portfolio of target schools, plan and participate in recruiting events, and work closely with regional and branch leaders to match top talent with business needs. The recruiter owns every phase of the process—from cultivating campus relationships and sourcing candidates to interviewing, assessments, and coordinating offers.

This is a high-visibility, relationship-driven position that requires exceptional communication skills, travel during busy recruiting seasons, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently and with initiative.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute a campus recruiting strategy across key universities in the Carolinas.
  • Build strong partnerships with faculty, career centers, and student organizations.
  • Represent the company at career fairs, information sessions, and classroom presentations.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for MDP and internship candidates.
  • Collaborate with regional and branch leaders to align talent with division needs.
  • Track metrics, report on outcomes, and continuously enhance the campus strategy.
  • Champion the company’s people-first, entrepreneurial culture at every interaction.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1–5 years of campus or early-career recruiting experience.
  • Confident, engaging communicator with strong presentation and networking abilities.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple schools, events, and candidate pipelines.
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with platforms such as Handshake, LinkedIn Recruiter, and ATS systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; majors in business, marketing, HR, or communications preferred.
  • Willing to travel 25–35% during peak fall and spring recruiting seasons.
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and comfortable working within a decentralized structure.

THE BENEFITS

  • Base salary midpoint near $75K, plus an additional $5–10K in bonuses.
  • Annual profit-sharing distribution (prorated in the first year).
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits with company match.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Extensive training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • High visibility, autonomy, and substantial career growth within a stable, people-focused organization.
