Job Description

Field Recruiter

About the Role

We’re looking for an energetic and relationship-driven Field Recruiter who thrives on connecting with others and creating opportunities. In this role, you’ll be out in the community—managing and attending career fairs, hosting hiring events, visiting schools, and building partnerships that help us find great local talent.

You’ll represent our Mills Siding & Roofing brand with pride, ensuring every interaction—whether with a candidate, school, or workforce partner—reflects our commitment to growth, opportunity, and community connection.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan, manage, and attend career fairs, community job events, and hiring days across the region to attract candidates and promote our company.
  • Build lasting relationships with trade schools, workforce agencies, veterans’ groups, and community organizations.
  • Conduct on-site interviews, candidate screenings, and follow-ups to move candidates quickly through the hiring process.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and fill open roles effectively.
  • Organize event logistics—including booth setup, travel, and materials—and represent the company with professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Develop grassroots recruiting initiatives that build brand awareness and strengthen local talent pipelines.
  • Track recruiting activity, candidate flow, and event results to measure success and share insights with leadership.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring candidates have a positive experience from first contact through onboarding.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Human Resources, Business, Marketing, or related field).
  • 3–5 years of recruiting or campus relations experience preferred.
  • Experience organizing or attending career fairs, community hiring events, or workforce development programs.

Skills

  • Strong communicator who enjoys meeting new people and building relationships.
  • Confident public speaker and presenter.
  • Highly organized and dependable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-starter who enjoys being out in the field and working independently.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office, and applicant tracking systems (ATS).

Travel Requirements

  • Local travel up to 75% to attend job fairs, school visits, and community events.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends as needed for recruiting events.
  • Ability to transport and set up event materials (up to 25 lbs).
