Careerscape is hiring for an Oregon forestry company that needs Technicians to assist with forest management activities. You'll cruise timber, mark trees, monitor reforestation, and maintain forest roads throughout western Oregon.

Responsibilities
- Cruise timber stands and estimate volumes
- Mark trees for harvest according to prescriptions
- Monitor tree planting and survival rates
- Maintain and improve forest roads
- Collect data on forest growth and health
- Assist with timber sale layout and administration
- Conduct wildlife habitat surveys
- Use GPS and GIS technology for mapping
- Maintain equipment and vehicles
Requirements
- Associate degree in Forestry or related field preferred
- 1-3 years of forestry field experience
- Knowledge of Pacific Northwest tree species
- Ability to use forestry measurement tools
- Physical fitness for hiking steep terrain
- Valid driver license with clean record
- Basic GPS and mapping skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
- Chainsaw certification helpful
