Hotel Maintenance Technician - West Coast

Position Overview: The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining furniture, fixtures, and interior spaces onboard ships. This role involves traveling to ships during the operating season to inspect and repair hotel spaces, including tasks such as wallpaper hanging, carpet installation, tile work, and general carpentry. During the off-season, the technician prepares ships for service through maintenance and repairs. The position reports to the Hotel Operations Manager and collaborates with the Fleet Hotel Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect hotel spaces and equipment.
  • Install wallpaper, tile, and carpet.
  • Repair and install wood trim and moldings.
  • Paint doors, walls, and trim.
  • Install artwork and TVs.
  • Perform general carpentry tasks.
  • Fix or replace fixtures and equipment.
  • Manage subcontractors and ensure quality work.
  • Complete inspections and quality assurance prior to ship re-entry into service.
  • Report work progress and issues to management.
  • Participate in weekly meetings.
Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of carpentry experience in hotels or cruise ships.
  • Willingness to travel to vessels as required.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills in English.
  • US Coast Guard regulated pre-employment drug test.
